Dance, music, theater, pottery… Members of the La Baz association in Baziège, in Haute-Garonne, were already spoiled for choice in terms of activities. Good news, the offer has been further expanded this year. Among the new features, we note the organization a workshop entitled “Gourmet Section”. It is in fact a meeting dedicated to oenology.

The idea came from a proposal from a winemaker and oenologist living in Baziège: Sebastien Almendros. This enthusiast offers wine lovers the opportunity to improve and for beginners to discover oenology. “He wants to provide his knowledge of this complex science in a simple and, above all, friendly way,” explains Celine Fesselierco-president of La Baz, whose new office was formed this year.

Wine, bread and charcuterie…

And if the choice of name was “gourmet section” rather than “oenology”, it is above all because the association offers to taste bread and cold meats between two glasses of wine.

All with “the desire to include this workshop in the life of the village”, continues the volunteer. Thus, La Baz wanted to involve the businesses of Baziège and did its shopping at the Maison Gomes butcher's shop and at the Le Fournil bakery, which has just reopened its doors after a fire in its premises.

A monthly workshop

The workshop takes place every first Tuesday of the month. The first session took place this Tuesday, November 5 and it was “quite a success,” says Céline Fesselie.

Five two-hour sessions are still planned for December 3, January 7, February 4, March 4 and April 8 at 7:15 p.m. at the Coopé. The price is €33 per workshop or €150 per year.

Other new features

Other new features have been included in the year's program for La Baz members, in the Coopé rooms. On Thursdays at 8:30 p.m., sports coach Ekaterina Castagnier hosts a “respiratory gym” workshop one hour for people aged 16 and over. “It’s an activity to improve well-being, gain flexibility and tone the muscles,” describes the co-president of La Baz. The price is set at €175 per year.

Since September, a weekly “heels dancing” class – heel dancing – is hosted by Amandine Tambareau on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Here the cost is €205.

Return of the Christmas boom

We will also salute, after several years of absence (the last edition took place in 2029), the return of a Christmas boom on Sunday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the La Coopé performance hall. “We are still finalizing it,” confides Céline Fesselier. There will be music and entertainment for children and teenagers. » Entrance will be free.

That's not all. In 2025, La Baz plans to organize for the first time a multi-sport course. During this day, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy several classes (step, dance, yoga, Pilates, etc.). The meeting is scheduled for Sunday March 9, 2025.

Two meetings in November

In November, La Baz is planning the reception of an inter-association event: the Muse concert on stage. Organized by the Baziège association, the Clad de Donneville, the FJEP de Montgiscard and the MJC d'Ayguesvives, this participatory gathering of musicians takes place each year in one of these four villages. Sunday November 24, 2024, meet in the Coopé de Baziège performance hall at 5:30 p.m. Entrance is free.
A few days later, on Saturday November 30, La Baz and the Baziège town hall will organize the Telethon in partnership with other associations in the town.

Practical information.
Annual membership to the La Baz association (necessary to benefit from its activities): €20.
