The public consultation, relating to the project to install a granulation unit, carried out by the company EO2 Bourgogne Franche-Comté, is launched this Tuesday, November 13 in Salins-les-Bains. It will take place until December 11 in the premises of the Jura town hall. The installation will be located on 8.3 ha of land in the Mélincols industrial zone, located in the northwest of the town. The unit will transform hardwood and softwood pulp logs into wood pellets. The pellets will be sold in bulk or bagged and palletized. The production capacity of the unit will amount to 110,000 t of pellets per year.
The site will include :
A log storage and processing platform,
A direct contact dryer equipped with a hot air generator from biomass,
A granulation unit,
A bagging and palletizing unit,
Pellet storage areas.
