Around 6:30 p.m., Tuesday November 12, 2024, the firefighters of Gard were called to a terrible road accident involving three vehicles, road from to Nimes (Gard).

Three vehicles

A major accident occurred on this busy route on the outskirts of Nimes. Around twenty firefighters went to the scene of the collision. They had to take care of no less than five victims. One of them was thrown from her own car.

Asked by Actu.fr, the firefighters look back on this dramatic accident.

“We were triggered around 6:30 p.m., for a collision involving several vehiclesroad from Avignon to Nimes. On site, we quickly understood that two cars had violently collided head-on. Another vehicle hit street furniture while trying to avoid this accident,” the officer explains.

The accident occurred near the Paloma concert hall. On site, firefighters took charge five victims.

“The least seriously affected is the driver, aged 50 anspresent alone in the third vehicle. She wasn't hurt, but very shocked by the accident. She returned home in the evening,” reports the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) of .

A person ejected

In the other two vehicles, the results are much more grave.

“In a vehicle, three men in their twenties were seriously injured. One of them was thrown from the vehicle. While the other two were completely stuck in the passenger compartment. In the other car, a man aged 46 ans was alone. He was incarcerated in his own vehicle and very seriously injured,” adds the Gard firefighter.

The four victims, present in these two cars, were transported in the early evening to the emergency room of the Carémeau hospital center in Nîmes.
