Synapse C welcomes four new members to its board of directors. Renaud Legoux joined the board last February, and at the annual general meeting on June 14, three more members were added. These appointments aim to strengthen the scope of the organization by associating it with decision-makers and professionals from academic, scientific and cultural circles. The new members of the board of directors are Renaud Legoux, Geneviève Béliveau-Paquin, Yves Théoret And Jean-François Gauvin.

Renaud Legoux
Renaud Legoux is a full professor in the marketing department at HEC Montréal and holds a doctorate in management from McGill University. Before his academic career, he worked as a manager in the cultural field. A specialist in database analysis and marketing of cultural organizations, he has published several research studies on the marketing of the arts and cultural industries. It accompanies Synapse C as an advisor since its foundation.

Geneviève Béliveau-Paquin
Geneviève Béliveau-Paquin has been director of the Observatory of Culture and Communications at the Institute of Statistics of Quebec since March 2021, where she supervises various work and statistical surveys, in particular on the attendance of cultural places in Quebec and the practices cultural of the population. Previously, she worked for 15 years at the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec as a research, development and planning officer. A graduate in cinema studies from the University of Montreal, she also has a master’s degree in leisure, culture and tourism from UQTR, training in management of public organizations from ENAP, and doctoral studies in urban studies. of INRS-Urbanization, culture and society.

Jean-François Gauvin
Jean-François Gauvin is senior director of experience and transformation at Bibliothèque et Archives nationaux du Québec (BAnQ), where he has held various positions in information technology since 2003. Graduate in library and information sciences from the University of Montreal, he also has graduate training in digital governance from the National School of Public Administration. He has worked for several cultural and academic organizations and institutions, including the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, Les Presses de l’Université de Montréal, the Union of Quebec Writers, and the Institute of Graphic Communications of Quebec.

Yves Théoret
Yves Théoret is deputy director general of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. He has held leadership positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Montreal, the National Gallery of Canada and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art in Toronto. He holds a master’s degree in arts administration from Columbia University (NY), a master’s degree in museology and a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Montreal. Yves also sits on the board of directors of the Arte Foundation (Arte Musica) and the Cinéma du Musée.

The team thanks Guillaume Therrien who sits on the board of Synapse C since June 2020 and is completing his term with flying colors. Guillaume will have been an important member during the growth and development of the organization, leveraging his qualities as an entrepreneur, strategist and advisor committed to the organization’s mission.
