Every year, the City of Saint-Avertin offers to immerse yourself for a whole week in the heart of another culture. After Portugal, Belgium, Greece and Ireland, Japan is in the spotlight in 2024.
From November 18 to 24, Japan will invite itself to the orangery of the Cangé estate and to the town hall in the form of exhibitions, on the market with a gastronomy stand or even at the media library, with several workshops and events: calligraphy, origami, ikebana (Japanese floral art), manga, video games.
At the New Atrium, you can discover a show of drums and traditional Japanese dances and see the magnificent film A family affairPalme d'Or at Cannes in 2018. It will also be possible to learn judo, karate, jujitsu or take Japanese language lessons.
With the participation of several Touraine associations which regularly establish educational, cultural and artistic exchanges highlighting Japan, this week promises to be rich in a change of scenery and discoveries.
