During the last international break in October, Kylian Mbappé was widely talked about since the Swedish press mentioned the opening of a rape investigation which would target him after an evening in Stockholm. However, neither the Swedish police nor the Swedish courts have indicated whether the Real Madrid star was indeed the subject of a rape complaint.

As for his non-call-up for the two Nations League matches, Didier Deschamps had to explain himself to journalists. “I thought about it and I made this decision about this gathering because I think it’s better that way”he tried to evacuate.

What I can tell you is two things: one, Kylian wanted to come; and two, that it is not extra-sporting problems that come into play from the moment the presumption of innocence exists and must exist. With Real Madrid, Mbappé will return to La Liga on November 24, during a trip to Leganés which will precede the match at Anfield against Liverpool in C1 on November 27.
