It has been a tradition for 11 years now, a tradition from which the new head of the hiking section of the ASPTT of Cahors, Patrick Marthe, does not deviate: the organization of the Telethon. This mobilization for the benefit of research against rare genetic diseases and support for families and patients will take place on Saturday November 30, 2024 at Espace Valentré in Cahors. On the program this year, at 2 p.m., from Espace Valentré, departure of 2 guided hikes, open to all, 7-8km and 5km, on the banks of the Lot and in old Cahors. The “Randonneurs Pédestres Cadurciens” are joining forces with the event to offer Nordic walking. Upon arrival at 4 p.m., stands will offer mulled wine, pancakes and drinks. Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., the Cahors firefighters will host three workshops for all ages: introduction to life-saving actions, fire course and information on becoming a volunteer firefighter. At 6 p.m., introduction to break dancing by 2 Step Live, Espère break dancing school. Paid aperitif (kir) at 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the Franck orchestra will provide musical accompaniment to the meal served by the Le St-Georges restaurant. For €25, you can enjoy beef bourguignon, cheese, dessert and wine. A dancing evening will follow at 9 p.m., in which you can participate independently of the meal (entry €12, one free drink). Throughout the evening, you can buy lottery tickets to try to win one of the many prizes donated by Cahors merchants. Of course, all profits from the day's actions will be donated to the AFM-Téléthon. The hiking section of the ASPTT of Cahors, with 170 members, offers every Thursday afternoon, for different levels of hiking, three circuits of 10km, 8-10km and 6-8km, as well as two circuits every other Sunday , always accompanied by 2 volunteer guides.
