A prize pool has been opened “to help Matheo’s family”young man aged 16 died in a tragic motorcycle accident which occurred in Liévin (Pas-de-Calais) on Wednesday November 6, 2024.
This Tuesday, November 12, more than €3,460 was raised in the online prize pool thanks to more than 200 participants.
Since the accident, many tributes have been paid to the teenager. “It is with immense sadness that we learned of the death of one of our apprentices. The entire educational community presents its most sincere condolences to his family and friends”for example declared his high school on its Facebook page.
An open investigation
As reported The Voice of the North the young man lived only a few hundred meters from the scene of the tragedy and was educated at a vocational high school in the city of Lens.
A police investigation has been opened to determine the precise circumstances of this tragedy. According to initial information, the young man lost control of his two-wheeler before hitting an electricity pylon. He was in cardio-respiratory arrest when help arrived. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
