Deceased animals abandoned by their owner in an apartment. This is the sad discovery that gendarmes made on Monday June 17, 2024 in a home in Saint-Georges-d’Espéranche (Isère) in which they had to intervene at the request of the owner of the premises, reports The Dauphine .
Two cats still alive rescued
The tenant was no longer paying his rent and appeared to have left the apartment several months ago. The owner had therefore made a report to the gendarmerie and the military came to note the absence of the bad payer. But instead, the police found the bodies of seven cats and a turtle in the home.
Two cats still alive were collected by the police and entrusted to a local association. An investigation into animal abuse and abandonment is underway.
