He drove for 20 years without a license
#AGDE A 37-year-old man was tried this week in Béziers for having driven for 20 years without a driving license. He was arrested after a traffic accident in Agde while fleeing the police.
His car ended up on its roof, taking on water in a ditch. The tragedy was narrowly avoided while his family was on board.
On the stand, the defendant explained that he had never “had the means to get a driving test”. He was sentenced to 18 months of detention and placed under arrest warrant. He will be required to obtain his driving license at the end of his detention. He had already been convicted five times for lack of a license without ever having been imprisoned.
Photovoltaic park: an XXL project in Lozère
PREVENCHÈRES/PIED-DE-BORNE It is in Lozère that the largest photovoltaic park in Occitanie, and the third in France, will emerge in 2027. 122 hectares will accommodate solar panels, 112 ha in the commune of Prévéchés, 10 in that of Pied-de-Borne. They will be spread over around ten plots.
The Roujanel park will be able to supply 125 MWp, or the needs of 80,000 inhabitants, the equivalent of the departmental population. Sheep will come to graze under panels installed at a minimum of one meter in fenced enclosures. The project received 90% favorable opinions during the public consultation.
Cyril Lignac's empire continues to grow
#AVEYRON The Cyril Lignac success story does not seem to be stopping, say our colleagues at Center Presse. At the end of 2024, the Aveyron chef is full of news. It continues to develop across the Channel.
After opening his first restaurant in London, in 2021, he is now taking up residence in Terminal 2 of Heathrow Airport. On the menu, a Franco-French collaboration symbol of luxury with… Louis Vuitton! Three years ago, he arrived in London as part of the development of his “Bar des Prés” brand.
While this concept also has two addresses in Paris, the Aveyronnais is now preparing to open a new establishment in the United Arab Emirates. In December, a Bar des Prés will open its doors in Dubai, a city that is establishing itself as the new capital of luxury and excess.
This will be located on the 51st floor of ICD Brookfield Place, a 54-story high tower in the heart of Dubai's financial center. Cyril Lignac will now have ten restaurants in his name and pastries.

Today's figure: 12,000
#SÈTE This is, in euros, the amount reached by a photograph of the port of Sète dating from 1857 sold at auction by the Millon auction house. A photo taken by Gustave Le Gray, pioneer of photography and author of The Great Wave.
Its price was initially estimated between €12,000 and €18,000. This “albumen print from a mounted glass negative” represents a view of the port of Sète where we can see, in the background, numerous boat masts.
