While she was supposed to join Catherine Vautrin in Toulon, RN MP Laure Lavalette was the victim of the burglary of her vehicle on Friday November 8. The suspect, an Algerian under obligation to leave French territory (OQTF), was arrested on site.
“Thank you to the BAC of Toulon for its rapid intervention and good recovery to the two police officers injured during the intervention,” reacted this Monday on X, the Var deputy of the National Rally, Laura Lavalette. Last Friday, November 8, the politician's car was targeted by a burglary, CNEWS learned from a police source confirming information from our colleagues at France Bleu Provence.
The suspect, an Algerian under obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) caught in the act according to our colleagues, was arrested on the spot. The latter was in fact arrested by the anti-crime brigade, alerted by a call from local residents, reported the local media.
The events took place not far from the beaches of Mourillon. When authorities arrived, the man was huddled inside the vehicle while searching it.
Random theft
Refusing to be taken away by the police, the individual managed to injure two police officers. In total, around ten cars were targeted by the burglary. His loot, according to France Bleu, would amount to a few coins and cigarettes.
According to information from CNEWS, he had decided to search vehicles at random, so he did not know that the last one he was in belonged to Laure Lavalette.
The man, targeted by an OQTF, was also banned from returning to France. Placed in pre-trial detention, the latter is reportedly awaiting his immediate appearance scheduled for this Wednesday.
