Created in 2022 at the initiative of proximity center of Heart of CotentinThis friendly place is destined to welcome children under 6 years oldwith their parents or another family adult.

The child-parent reception area is a space for exchanges, meetings, games and discussion, free, without registration And free entry.

A space for exchange

It allows children to gradually acquire their autonomyto discover the rules of life by meeting other parents and children, in order to share moments of games and prepare for the separation.

For parents, the sessions allow them to discover their child in another light, in another context, where speech and exchanges are encouraged. It is also a place to meet other parents and professionals from childhood.

New volunteers

These times allow break away from isolationto take a break and create your own benchmarks in order to promote the parenting skills.

The LAEP is divided into two sites open every Wednesday morning, during school periods: Valognes and Bricquebec. During each session, two greeters are present. The Bricquebec site operates partly thanks to volunteers. Volunteers may be required to intervene on both sites. The Valognes site is seeing very good attendance and will offer a second time slot from January 2025.

There increase in attendance requires the recruitment of new volunteers.

“It’s always a pleasure for me to come”

She completes her remarks: “If some of the readers are interested, we are launching an appeal. The volunteers are never alone, we support them both during the sessions and during training on the posture of welcoming people in LAEP, a session being scheduled in 2025 “.

Florence, retired and volunteer, confides: “It’s always a pleasure for me to come and meet children and parents. I have been a LAEP volunteer for two years and I can intervene both in Valognes and in Bricquebec. I like meetings and exchanges and this activity allows me to to stay in contactwith children. In addition, it is not too demanding either, because I participate according to a pre-established schedulefrom 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., a few Wednesdays a year.
