In a twenty-minute interview given to host Paul Larocque, he talks in particular about temporary immigration to Quebec, health negotiations and the third link in Quebec.

Towards a confrontation with general practitioners?

The Prime Minister assures that he is determined to get to the bottom of the question of doctors’ remuneration.

“It’s going to be very hard in the next few months in terms of health,” declares François Legault.

“We have two big collective agreements to negotiate […] one with family doctors so that they can take care of more patients and one with nurses so that they give us the flexibility to better manage the network,” he explains.

In defense of the 3rd link

François Legault defends his decision to move forward with the 3rd link between Quebec and Lévis.

“There are 10,500 trucks that pass over the Pierre-Laporte bridge every day and it is the only bridge that can accept trucks, and the next one is in Trois-Rivières,” he explains.

The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to shoot an arrow at Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, who proposed lowering the deck of the Quebec Bridge to allow heavy trucks to use this bridge.

“Specialists from the Quebec Ministry of Transport say that Mr. Duclos’s business is not working,” maintains François Legault.

The latter adds that he intends to ask for help from Ottawa for the construction of the 3rd link and the tramway in the national capital.

“Honestly, I don’t rule out convincing both Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Poilievre, and saying: we need both projects, so help us finance both projects.”
