The Saudi Ministry of Health says it has not recorded any contagious diseases among pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season, while continuing its efforts to provide integrated healthcare services to pilgrims.

No contagious disease was recorded among the pilgrims, Deputy Minister of Public Health Hani Jokhdar told the press, emphasizing the consideration of special cases.

The ministry reaffirmed the commitment of the Saudi Arabian health system to providing the highest levels of care to pilgrims, through its medical and administrative staff, facilities and health centers spread across Mecca, Medina and the Places Saints, with the aim of ensuring their health security during the Hajj season 1445H/2024.

Some 93,000 pilgrims benefited from the various health services provided by Saudi health centers, from the first day of the month of Dhu al-Qi’dah, until the eighth day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah 1445H, according to a latest count of this department.

Health services provided to pilgrims varied between medical and specialized clinics, pharmacies, dialysis centers, intensive care rooms and isolation units, the ministry said, reporting 19 open-heart operations, 218 catheterizations cardiac and 676 dialysis performed, in addition to the admission of 2022 pilgrims to hospitals and medical centers to receive the necessary health care.
