the essential
Two Bigourdans, Clelya and Denis, will participate in the national Miss and Mister Agricole competition. To support them, simply like their post on the competition Facebook page.
Clelya, 18 years old, is still a student and is preparing her BP Agricultural Business Manager (REA) and Denis, 30 years old, breeder of the blonde Aquitaine breed, have one thing in common, they are going to represent the Hautes-Pyrénées at the national competition of Miss and Mister Agricole 2025. She is originally from Bordes, he has been self-employed for four years.
The election of Miss and Mister Agricole is a competition dedicated to promoting the agricultural sector through its passionate actors. “This event’s mission is to give increased visibility to women in agriculture, while highlighting the importance of the French agricultural world,” specifies the organization of the competition.
And it is this valorization of the profession that stands out in the presentation of the two young farmers. “I am participating in the election in order to defend my passion for breeding and represent solidarity-based agriculture to pass on to future generations which remains essential for French agriculture,” says Denis. “The agricultural world is too little known and too little considered at its true value. Finding your place in this environment, especially being a woman, is not easy every day. I want to show a message of hope for all young girls who hesitate to get started because of the comments”, underlines Clelya.
Words that resonate all the more today, when the agricultural world is going through a very difficult period and tension is rising again a few months before the opening of the Paris International Agricultural Show.

If this title is honorary, the organization of the competition reminds that “here, no restrictive criteria: whether you are young or old, small or tall, it does not matter the color of your boots, this competition is open to all those who keep our agriculture alive. This distinction shines a spotlight on the profession. Lou-Annne Jannel, the Ariégeoise winner in 2024, had multiplied the interventions, both to raise awareness of the difficulty of practicing as such, but also of the difficulty of being a woman in the profession.
The competition is open to all farmers and to support them, nothing could be simpler, simply go to the competition's Facebook page and like the publication of the farmer concerned. Registrations are open until November 29. The 20 most popular profiles in each category (there are also the two junior categories) will then be submitted to a final jury which will choose the winner and his two runners-up. The results will be published on the day of the Miss France election.
