Just like the city's emblematic monuments, the Man in Blue has, on numerous occasions, over recent years, inspired artisans, artists and content creators from and its region.

Anyway, I went to Limoges

May 2012. The short humorous program Briefby and with Kyan Kojandi, broadcast on Canal +, is a hit and parodies are popping up on YouTube. The actor Julien Pestel, particularly known for his appearances in the Palmashow sketches, decided to produce a version dedicated to Limoges, the city where he studied.

Ryan Lafarge, whimsical BFM librarian and videographer, plays the role of a tourist who, on a whim, decides to get on the first train and ends up by chance in Limoges. During his stroll through the Limousin capital, he comes across two famous local cyclists: Raymond Poulidor and the Man in Blue.

Twelve years after it was put online, Anyway, I went to Limoges has almost 600,000 views.

In 2013, the webzine The Man in Blue was born. For eleven years, this website run by around thirty volunteers has highlighted good deals and new things to discover in the city, particularly its bars and restaurants, and also organized various events.

He regularly featured a character dressed in overalls and rubber boots in humorous – always friendly – or promotional video clips, in collaboration with local videographers.

The team recently announced the end of its activity and promised a farewell evening in 2025. This will certainly not fail to pay a vibrant tribute to the one who inspired this adventure.

A bean bearing his image

In January 2020, the Saint-Thérèse patisserie, in Limoges, had, on the occasion of Epiphany, garnished its galettes des rois with a collection of beans inspired by the symbols of the city and the region: a balloon of basketball, chestnuts, a cow, the Bénédictins station, a porcelain plate, the CRIL and… the Man in Blue on his bike!

A first cousin?

Even far from home, the Limougeauds always had a little nostalgic thought for this character when they came across a cyclist dressed all in blue.

In 2014, Adeline, a Feytiacoise expatriate in Leipzig, Germany, sent us the photo of a distant cousin of Jean-Marc, seen near her home.

That was also the Man in Blue, an atypical character, a little out of time, identifiable at first glance, who contributed – and will continue to contribute for a long time – despite himself, to the attachment of Limougeauds to their city.
