End of season for the Judo section of the JSR of Rion-des-Landes – Le Petit Journal

Saturday June 8 took place the traditional belt presentation ceremony which closes this 2023-2024 season followed by the club’s General Assembly. Laurent Civel, mayor of Rion des Landes, wanted to thank the club’s leaders for the quality of the education provided, the sporting results obtained at all levels and the growing number of young people, succession is assured. He also thanks the parents for their involvement in the operation of the Judo section. This year, the club obtained the France Judo bronze label, a label recognized by the Federation. A year full of results: Several Landes champion titles in all age categories. Podiums in regional competitions. A qualification as a volunteer for judo at the Olympic Games. A new officer. A new departmental sports commissioner. This busy 14th year reflects quality teaching and the commitment of teachers Cédric MANEM and Mathieu LAFORIE to their students during competitions across France. The objectives for the club’s 15th year have already been set: 2 new black belts and the higher grade for 6 other black belts, promotion of one of our referees to the national level. During this meeting, the public was able to admire spectacular demonstrations and witness the presentation of new belts by senior members of a higher grade. Before the closing of this assembly, Gilbert LONTANO, one of the oldest members of the club, 6th dan black belt, wanted to recall the values ​​of judo which is above all a sport in which the elders are there to help and advance the young judokas. A big thank you to all the leaders for their work in the shadows and to the municipality of Rion des Landes for their support and accompaniment.
