Legislative elections: 40 candidates in total in the six constituencies of Calvados

Following the results of the European elections, President Emmanuel Macron decided to dissolve the National Assembly. Voters are therefore called to the polls again, to elect their new representatives. The first round will take place on June 30. The second round will be July 7, 2024. Submitted this Sunday June 16 at the latest, the applications have been officially validated. In Calvados, 40 candidates are presenting themselves this year. In 2022, there were 61.

In the first constituency, the least populated of the six, the mayor of Caen Joël Bruneau is campaigning under the Divers Droite label. Emma Fourreau, already a candidate in 2022 against Fabrice Le Vigoureux (Ensemble), will represent the New Popular Front. The battle promises to be tough in the third constituency. The outgoing deputy Jérémie Patrier-Leitus (Ensemble) will face him the vice-president of the Normandy region Nathalie Porte (Right-Republican). The sixth constituency is the densest with 8 candidates in total, including former Prime Minister Elisabeth Born, and the one who almost won against her in 2022, the Insoumis Noé Gauchard, under the banner of the New Popular Front.
