the essential
For more than ten years, President Jean Pierre Schiefer has strived with his team to innovate, thanks to qualified supervisors and licensed volunteers.
The club is FFA certified, affiliated with the disabled sports and adapted sports federation, so it opens the doors to all audiences.
Of course there are always detractors. “I invite them to take places in the office and even their own since I am finishing my mandate (place for volunteers)” comments Jean-Pierre Schiefer.
“With a year of exceptional results and with the support of the municipality and the department, I intend to leave a healthy and efficient club in the bastide”.
The new season has also started well with a finalist team at the foot of the podium in the discus throw, and a French masters walking champion.
Good times during the last course
Recently, an 8-day high-level course took place, focusing on physical preparation and group cohesion.
Supervised by Aurélien Boussaguet and Eléa Aubert, ultra-combined world vice-champion, with vigilant monitoring by Armelle Barella.
It is in Castelnau-Montratier, in a magnificent little village, that the young people have taken up their base, with two training sessions per day. On the program: technique, flexibility, swimming pool, middle distance, strengthening, mental preparation, but also an hour of general culture each day. Healthy meals prepared with lots of love, and also cohesion activities at the loft sport base in Cahors.
The athletes trained on a track, on the new Montauban and Moissac stadiums. The results were there, including 5min14 for Alizé Fournel over 1,500 m, 3min19 for Zoé Jagueneau and 2min50 for Yvann Rey over 1,000 m, a promising 4min35 for Tristan Barella over 1,509 m and a pole vault team and from triple to high motivation. And what about the 53 seconds for the start of the season returning from injury Noah the Right.
On arrival, only smiles and the happiness of having shared true values. Finally, the president hopes that the work on the stadium will be completed quickly. To see it once again fully functioning in competition, he can only congratulate the positive spirit of most of the participants. Workers from the municipality, and he hopes that “quickly our friends from rugby league and rugby union will come to take their places on the beautiful structure of the Myre-Mory, an exceptional tool. It is both a blow shouts and a cry of joy that I launch here But the athletics club will have suffered greatly from the lack of premises and structure this season, but thanks to our will, we will not give up.
