Bart De Wever, future Prime Minister? What do the MR and Les Engagés think of this possibility?

This Sunday, future coalitions and the consequences for the Belgians were on the “Rendez-vous” program. With in particular a question: Would Bart De Wever make a good Prime Minister? The MR and the Engaged spoke on the issue.

On June 9, the entire country was called to go to the polls for the federal, regional and European elections. And at the time of the results concerning our country, it was the N-VA and the MR who emerged as the big winners of this election.

And as Bart De Wever sees himself as Prime Minister, a question deserves to be asked: would he make a good Prime Minister for our country? Willy Borsus (MR) and Vanessa Matz (Les Engagés) spoke on this subject.

The fact that the first party presents the Prime Minister candidate is an element which, in the news or the history of our country, has often happened as you know“, explains Willy Borsus.

For Vanessa Matz, the answer is more nuanced. “If it is to implement its confederal project, it will be without us at that level. We have already said several times that a confederal project is not possible. Now, it is clear that we will see what is in a possible agreement at the federal level“.

Also present on the set this afternoon, the secretary general of the Walloon FGTB, Jean-François Tamellini, also gave his opinion on a possible appointment of the president of the N-VA as Prime Minister. “Mr De Wever is the wolf in the sheepfold. And the coalition in place offers him its Trojan horse“.

As a reminder, as a royal informant, Bart De Wever will have to submit his first report by June 19.

Your show “Rendez-vous” can be seen again on RTL play.
