Fans were worried about the members. The 5th generation group tripleS recently revealed that some of the girls in the group had moved out of the dorms. Indeed, outside of promotional periods, some girls have chosen to move out, only using the dorms when the group is on promotion, which has sparked criticism and concern from their fans.
Among the four girls who moved out was Kim Yooyeon, who is one of the group’s most popular members and decided to apologize to her fans after facing backlash. She also reassured fans that she would return to the dorms, even during non-promotional times. This is how Kim Yooyeon said:
“ I write this after careful consideration. I’m so sorry and sad to think that many fans were concerned and disturbed by what we said on Signal yesterday. First of all, I think we made a big statement, but anyway, I have a lot to do overseas next month and I think I’ll be back in the dorms in two months at most. Family issues led me to move out of the dorm and into my family’s house, which is close to the office in Seoul, and I hope you will consider this a sort of vacation for me.
I hope you won’t think too much about it. When I return to the dorms, after a month or two, I will also switch to Signal. And even outside of promotional periods, I am always with the members from noon to evening, I go to the company every day to rehearse, so you don’t have to worry too much. »
Although dorm life is a part of K-Pop culture that many cherish and enjoy, it seems that TripleS’s unique arrangements have worried some fans.
Dorm life is essential for fledgling groups, and since TripleS didn’t debut as a full-fledged group until 2024, many felt it was still too early for them to move out.
