Atlético d’Ottawa suffered a first defeat at home on Saturday afternoon. Ottawa lost 2-1 to York United FC at TD Place. Canadian international Amer Didić was the only scorer for the Ottawa squad.
According to coach Carlos González, Atlético did not show enough precision in the two penalty areas
we can read in a press release released shortly after the game on Saturday.
York United FC took the lead through former Atlético striker Brian Wright, who doubled the score early in the second half.
Fans on site had the opportunity to meet the star of the Canadian women’s national team, Vanessa Gilles, on Saturday.
The Atlético d’Ottawa players will return to action next Friday when they face Cavalry FC in Calgary.
The next home match will be June 28 against Forge FC.
