With less than 50 days until the start of Paris 2024, the Canadian women’s 3×3 basketball team is not slowing down and continues to accumulate good results. The quartet of Katherine Plouffe, Paige Crozon, Cassandra Sidney Brown and Mackenzie Reagan Smith won the silver medal during a stop of the FIBA ​​3×3 series in Clermont-Ferrant, France.

In the final, the Canadian players lost by a score of 21-12 against France, the local favorite and second seed in the competition. Plouffe was the most productive on her team in the final game with five points and five rebounds.

Canada had taken the lead early in the match, but the French team finished the match strong with a streak of 12 points against only 3.

It was the only defeat of the tournament for top-seeded Canada. The Canadian team first finished first in its group during the preliminary phase with a perfect record of two victories. In the quarter-final, they won in overtime 21-19 against Puerto Rico before defeating the Netherlands 21-18 in the semi-final to set the table for the duel against the French in the grand final.
