LThe man doesn't hide it. He readily describes himself as “fascist” et d’“homophobic”. He wants to be racist, Arabophobic, supremacist, colonialist, annexationist, revisionist. He is none other than finance minister of the Israeli far-right government. And governor of the occupied West Bank. His name: Bezalel Smotrich.
He is invited to Paris, on November 13, by the organization Israel Is Forever, for a gala to mobilize the “French-speaking Zionist forces at the service of the power and history of Israel”. An organization close to extremist Israeli settlers, led by French-Israeli lawyer Nili Kupfer-Naouri, which claims that there is no innocent civilian population in Gaza while advocating the obstruction of the entry of aid humanitarian in the Palestinian enclave bombed and deprived of everything.
Described as a “war criminal”
Bezalel Smotrich, himself a settler in the occupied West Bank, is the one who, already in 2017, indicated three possible options for Palestinians: live without rights under occupation, leave their land, or revolt and be eliminated.
Bezalel Smotrich is the minister described as “war criminal” by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz and which, in February 2023, called for “annihilate” the Palestinian town of Huwara, in the occupied West Bank, after two settlers were killed there and far-right settlers burned the town. The same settlers who have increased the massacres, particularly since 2023.

Bezalel Smotrich is the minister already invited to Paris in March 2023 by the same organization Israel Is Forever, to pay tribute to the founder of the organization, Jacques Kupfer [1946-2021]a former Betar activist, who criticized the Oslo Accords and, after the assassination by an Israeli Jewish extremist of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, described the latter as a “traitor”.
Bezalel Smotrich then declared in Paris: « The Palestinian people are an invention less than a hundred years old. Do they have a history, a culture? No, they don't have any.”and his desk displayed a map including not only Israel and occupied Palestine, like the one presented to the UN by Benjamin Netanyahu, but also the territory of current Jordan. For this supporter of Greater Israel, the annexation is part of a project that transforms the Torah into a new cadastral document.
