This year, so that residents feel a little less alone during Noël a you The newsthe young woman had an original idea. In fact, she recently made an appeal on social networks so that anyone who wishes can send, in a non-nominal manner, a maila postcard or a drawing addressed to residents.
“Giving a smile to our residents”
“I see how difficult the holiday season is for some of our residents […]. They sometimes ask us if they have mail, but unfortunately this is not always the case “, she explains.
Last weekend, she therefore launched an appeal on various surrounding social network groups asking people to send a short note, an email, a letter or even a postcard without a specific recipient.
“I was very surprised by the enthusiasm for this call, because a lot of people have already reacted upon publication. I really hope they send something,” adds Doulce Velu.
At the end of November, the residents and the professional supervising team will gather around a snack and read the cards and letters together in order to transform this moment into a festive afternoon.
“If we receive too many letters, we plan to do several reading sessions. My goal is to bring a smile to our residents who sometimes do not even receive a call or a visit,” she concludes.
Don't hesitate to be creative, including with your children, and if you leave your contact details, the team will answer you.
