“Anis had his life ahead of him”: hundreds of people paid tribute to the teenager killed in Poitiers

Applause, tears and immense incomprehension. Nearly 500 people attended this Saturday afternoon the tribute organized in memory of Anis, Place de Coïmbra, in (Vienna). Caught in a shooting on the evening of October 31 in this same place, this 15-year-old teenager, passionate about football and enrolled in the first year of CAP, has since died of a gunshot to the head. Four of his friends – all minors – were also injured in this still unexplained assault, with no direct link to the young victim. Issachar P., the alleged perpetrator of these shots, was indicted for murder this Thursday, November 7, and placed in pre-trial detention. Anis' funeral took place on Friday at the great mosque of Poitiers.

Youssef, Anis' uncle, spoke in this square in Coimbra where he himself came to the aid of his nephew on the evening of the tragedy. “He was a golden kid… No one deserves to be shot in the head in these circumstances,” he assured in order to “reestablish the truth”. Anis played football in the team of the neighboring town of Buxerolles. He then did an internship in the local bakery in connection with his business studies. That evening, he had just ordered a sandwich after leaving a Halloween party organized by the neighboring socio-cultural center.
