The Marseille Series Stories Festival's mission is to honor the work of adapting literary works into television series, while rekindling interest in reading and highlighting the stories and often little-known authors behind our favorite series. Organized by the Bouches-du-Rhône Department, this unique festival, dedicated to series derived from literature, will take place from Thursday November 21 to Sunday November 24, 2024 in the Joliette district, in Marseille.
Intended for a wide audience, the festival offers a varied program accessible free of charge, upon reservation. Whether you are a series enthusiast, an occasional viewer, an audiovisual professional or simply curious, you will find something to satisfy you: screenings of new series, masterclasses with production teams, screenings dedicated to young people, as well as signing sessions. In addition, specific events for schools are adapted and organized in partnership with CD13.
During the closing ceremony scheduled for Sunday, November 24, a jury will award three prizes: the prize for the best series adapted from a literary work, the interpretation prize and the direction prize, without forgetting a prize of the public based on spectator votes.
For professionals, the festival offers networking opportunities with several round tables bringing together important figures in the sector, such as authors, producers and screenwriters. The Publishers' Market, which will take place on Friday, November 22, will allow more than 40 publishers to meet producers and distributors to present their literary works likely to be adapted.
In short, the Marseille Séries Stories Festival is an unmissable event to celebrate the link between literature and audiovisual, inviting everyone to rediscover the richness of literary stories through the prism of series.
