Only around forty students out of the 280 enrolled in a school in Verneuil-L’Étang (Seine-et-Marne) went to class on Thursday June 13, 2024, reports The Republic of Seine-et-Marne . The parents refused to drop off their children as a sign of support for the school director. Two days earlier, she was attacked by a fifth grade student.

“His master has already been on sick leave”

The child allegedly gave the principal a big shoulder push on Tuesday June 11 while she was in charge of welcoming the students. The boy is said to be known for being violent and insulting towards fellow students and staff. “His master has already been on sick leave,” a representative of parents assured our colleagues. Requests to the academic inspectorate to find a solution have already been made.

The director, who has been on leave since the events, filed a complaint. A gendarmerie investigation was opened. “The situation is very complex and the National Education Inspector is currently on site to find a solution,” indicated the academic inspection to the regional weekly.
