In its 10 a.m. bulletin this Saturday, November 9, Météo France decided to place Haute-Corse on Orange vigilance for rain-floodfor today but also for tomorrow.
New developments: Orange alert for the “rain-flood” parameter in the Haute-Corse department.
Call for vigilance
The weather organization calls for vigilance in the face of these thunderstorms on the eastern coast of Corsica which are “gradually strengthening and becoming more widespread”.
Intensities could be around 30 to 50 mm per hour in places, and accumulations could approach 80 to 120 mm in 3 to 6 hours. Over the entire episode, the accumulations risk occasionally reaching 150 mm, or even a little more.
Thunderstorms in the south
Météo France also maintains Corse-du-Sud, Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques in yellow alert for thunderstorm.
Vigilance lasts until midnight, except for Corsica-du-Sud where it is extended until tomorrow.
