They describe a home that was “very dirty with cockroaches,” and XD’s mother-in-law reports that the children “would have virtually nothing to eat.” The police summoned XD, who, on June 14, 2023, reiterated that she was going through a bad time and claimed to have received no help from her family. At this time, the family is under the supervision of Youth Protection. But she still refuses inspectors access to her house. At the end of the trial, the children’s court decides the immediate placement of the children outside the home, each in suitable structures: the eldest suffers from “explosive attacks of anger and childhood depression” and is placed in an establishment, the the youngest is welcomed by a host family, and the third now lives with his father. XD, tried in absentia for serious negligence, received 10 months in prison and a fine of 400 euros.
