Elderly people residing in several municipalities in Haute-Vienne were affected by fraudulent thefts, committed between October 10 and 12.
The gendarmes of the Saint-Junien research brigade, seized of the case, made it possible to identify four individuals who allegedly committed a total of thirteen acts in Haute-Vienne and in neighboring departments, for a total damage estimated at 1,300 euros .
Two placed in pre-trial detention
This Wednesday, November 6, at 6 a.m., a major legal operation was launched in Montélimar (Drôme) where the individuals were, it seems, stationed. With the support of the local gendarmerie intervention unit, the four targets were arrested and placed in police custody. A utility vehicle, which was used to commit the acts, was seized during the searches, as well as a large sum of cash.
Led within the Saint-Junien company by the gendarmes of the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon (PSIG) of Saint-Junien, the four men admitted the facts. They were brought before the Limoges public prosecutor this Friday for an immediate appearance.
Two were placed in pre-trial detention, and two were placed under judicial supervision pending their trial on November 12.
