What happened this Friday?

The judicial police of and around fifteen hooded police officers from the Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) of (44) jointly carried out an impressive operation at the Pont de la Corde, in Henvic (29), this Friday November 8, 2024, shortly before 2 p.m.

Forced blockade, chase and gunfire

A roadblock had been set up at the Pont de la Corde roundabout and a car forced it. A chase followed on the D58 expressway, in the direction of Henvic – Saint-Martin-des-Champs. Several shots, confirmed by Camille Mansioni, Brest public prosecutor in charge of the case, and the head of the BRI, were fired by the police to slow down the fleeing vehicle. The latter was intercepted a few moments later, near the place called Le Croissant, at the Henvic exit. On board were two young adult men, who were arrested.

The two men in police custody are said to be fugitives from Taulé

At 2:30 p.m., after the evacuation of the vehicle which had forced the blockade, the police left the scene and released the road, closed to traffic for a few dozen minutes. The two men were placed in police custody at the Morlaix police station,

The prosecutor specified that “this search operation was carried out as part of ongoing legal proceedings”, confirming “the link with the operation carried out on Tuesday November 5 in Taulé [au cours de laquelle deux mineurs avaient été interpellés, et deux autres personnes avaient pris la fuite, NDLR]. “A priori, the two men arrested are indeed those who were wanted,” he clarified later.

Suspected of also being the Morlaix shooters

According to our information, these men are also suspected of being the perpetrators of the shootings which took place in October at the entrances to buildings in Morlaix, in the Kerfraval and Black Virgin districts. These cases were linked to drug trafficking.

The deployment of the forces of the BRI, an elite police service, to reinforce the staff of the Morlaix police station, suggests that the “two objectives” questioned would be linked to more than a “simple deal” in the prison cage. staircase in their neighborhood…
