Gard. Motorcyclist dies in road accident

Shortly after 10 a.m., Thursday June 13, Gard firefighters went near the village of Maruéjols-lès-Gardon (Gard) following a terrible collision between a motorcycle and a van.

A motorcycle on fire

More than 20 fire soldiers were mobilized for this intervention. The collision occurred on departmental road 982. The violence of the collision between the two vehicles threw the victim more than 6 meters of his two-wheeler.

The collision between the two vehicles caused the burning of the motorcycle. The firefighters first set out to put out this start of fire.

A dead motorcyclist

The body of the motorcyclist was found below departmental road 982. To be able to provide assistance, specialized firefighters from the Research and Intervention Group in Perilous Environments (Grimp) were requested.

“Despite resuscitation attempts, the motorcyclist, aged 27, died,” the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service said.

The driver of the van was taken care of by the Gard firefighters. Slightly injured, he was hospitalized.
