A thrilling holiday in the Creuse Valley

The Creuse valley tourist office offers activities for families for ten days. In Gargilesse, four narrated walks, focused on the discovery of the famous characters of the Rustic legends will take place on October 22, 24, 29, and 30, 2024, at 5 p.m. Maurice Sand carried out a real investigation in his time, and collected numerous testimonies on these appearances of fools, flambettes, lubins and other very mysterious characters, which are part of the traditions of Berry.

These stories were transcribed by his mother, George Sand, in this book written in 1876 and illustrated by himself. “It seemed to us to be the ideal opportunity to pass on these regional legends, particularly to children,” indicates Hélène Texier, at the origin of these activities.

Free treasure hunts on the same theme will be offered to everyone from the tourist offices of Argenton-sur-Creuse, Éguzon-Chantôme and Gargilesse-Dampierre, from October 22 to 31, during the opening hours of the offices (except morning of October 23).

Furthermore, a privileged visit to the witch's house, in Bonnu, in the commune of Cuzion, is planned for October 25 at 5 p.m.

For the narrated walks and the visit, reservations (€2) are recommended, tel. 02.54.24.05.30.
