A reflection on the restructuring of the Raymond Cortat college in the municipality of Pleaux, aiming to group theprimary school in the college premises, was launched in 2022 through a “programming feasibility” study carried out by Cantal Ingénierie et Territoires.
Sharing the college building with other users seems relevant given current needs and projections of the number of college students in this sector, assures the Department.
Middle school and schoolchildren together
This project will make it possible to optimize the college space (around 70 middle school students) and accommodate children from kindergarten to CM 2, currently in a municipal building “requiring major renovation work”.
Thus, the municipality delegates to the Department of Cantal, the project management of the work falling within the field of competence of the municipality, i.e. the work affecting the part of the building dedicated to the future municipal school and directly dependent on its responsibility. The mission entrusted to the Department includes the administrative, technical and accounting management of the operation until the reception of the work and the handover of the works, the municipality being associated with the progress of the project, the validation of the stages and key choices .
In 2027?
The overall estimated cost of works (all parties combined and excluding fees and various missions) amounts to €2,880,000 excluding tax. The breakdown of expenditure amounts by project owner is as follows, for the Department: €1,910,000 excluding tax, for the municipality: €970,000 excluding tax.
The duration of the operation is estimated at 34 months (studies: 10 months, works: 24 months).
