In Indre, the social action districts change their name

Monday June 10, 2024, around forty personalities and representatives of social services gathered in front of the social action district (CAS) of Buzançais, to unveil a new plaque and a new identity to the CAS of Buzançais, but also to the eight others of the department.

Indeed, often confused by the public with the CCAS, the Municipal Social Action Center, the Department wanted, for greater clarity, to give them a new identity. And, at the same time, strengthen membership in the Indre departmental council and introduce the essential notion of proximity, as the president of the Department, Marc Fleuret, pointed out in his speech: “By changing the name, we wanted to give an aspect of proximity to these nine reception points serving Indians. »

Nine reception points

From now on, we will no longer speak of CAS, but of Local Social Space (ESP 36), which is the new name of the new sites which cover the Indre department. If the name changes, the public will be able to find in each of the sites the same services as before such as prevention of family dysfunction, support for parents, support for families and children in difficulty, access to rights, fight against exclusion and the integration of people in difficulty, support for people losing their autonomy due to age or disability, integration or even RSA.

As Françoise Le Monnier de Gouville suggested, “ESP36 are the latest and most important local public service to support the population present throughout the department with these nine reception points. Places where we find social workers, social and family economics advisors, nurses, childcare workers, maternal and child protection doctors. »
