To mark the 50th anniversary of the return of the lynx to the Jura massif, the Large Predators Center is organizing various actions this year aimed at a wide audience, including schools. “This “anniversary” aims to celebrate the reappearance of the feline on its former territories, to promote the image of the boreal lynx, to rehabilitate its presence in our region and more broadly,” presents Patrice Raydelet.

It will be an opportunity to present school achievements, student actions, conferences on the species, commercial products representing the lynx, photographs of the feline by professionals and amateurs, projections, study presentations, discussion spaces, etc.

Different actions and events will take place in the department between now and the end of the year. A special weekend will take place at Carcom in Lons-le-Saunier on November 9 and 10. The associative stands (Pôle Grands Prédateurs, Apacefs, Ferus, etc.), Jura artisans and artistic exhibitions (Isabelle Dal-Pos, Ghislaine Letourneur, Audrey Petit Labrot) will be presented in the hall of honor. Conferences, activities, screenings and shows will take place in the large conference room. Entry to events, exhibitions, screenings, debates, stands and outings is free.

The Large Predators Center, created in 2007, carries out numerous actions aimed at rehabilitating the image of all predators. For seventeen years, the boreal lynx has remained the flagship awareness species for the association.

Tell us about your lynx!

The PGP invites teachers to register their class to produce an action that will present what lynx evokes for their students, how they feel its presence on our soil, in its natural habitat, since it returned, fifty years ago. years.

The floor will also be given to people who have encountered the lynx over the last fifty years to come and testify to the emotion they felt (oral testimonies, photos, videos, voice recordings, etc.). The PGP is launching a call to Jura residents and tourists wishing to participate. Contact: [email protected]
