Thursday November 7, 2024, Route de la Vallée in Grandcourt (Seine-Maritime), emergency services were called around 9:15 p.m. a house fire.
Once there, they discovered a detached house “completely engulfed in flames”, notes the Sdis (Departmental Fire and Rescue Service). The resident had time to evacuate the premises before their arrival.
For more than an hour, 17 firefighters worked to put out the fire using two fire hoses.
The main resident transported in relative emergency
The resident, a 78-year-old man, smoke poisoningwas transported to the Abbeville hospital center in relative emergency.
Around 10:15 p.m., the fire was brought under control but the house, built of wood, was completely destroyed. As for the owner, he was rehoused by the town hall following his hospitalization.
At the time of writing, the causes of this fire are still unknown.
