The FDSEA of Landes (Departmental Federation of Farmers' Unions) announces in a press release that it has validated the resignation of François Lesparre from the presidency of the Landes section and the election of the new president, in the person of Michel Larrère, until present number 2 of the resigning party.

François Lesparre justifies his choice by the need to “protect” the FDSEA from the various attacks from competitors in the elections of members of the Chamber of Agriculture, which will be held on January 31, 2025. “The adversaries of the FDSEA have decided to associate my name to agrivoltaism and to bring out only that from our project, when it is not a central subject that we are addressing. »

Agrivoltaism

Agrivoltaism is a subject that divides farmers. Notably the Terr'Arbouts project, launched by 35 farmers, including François Lesparre. It provides for the construction of photovoltaic panels over crop fields and thus provide additional income to farmers through the production of electricity.

François Lesparre adds that he had, in any case, “planned to stop next January”.
