The gloomy atmosphere that reigns at number 19 rue de la Fin in Cortaillod will soon be over. Stripped of its sign since December 2023, the building which once housed the Coop will be destroyed and replaced by 12 apartments of all sizes and by a private underground car park, according to information published in the latest Official Gazette. Today, we can see the templates of the future building.
The only downside for the Cortaillod municipal councilor, Olivier Rochat: there will be no sales area on the ground floor of the building. The municipality therefore loses the presence of the distribution giant. But the person in charge of town planning in Cortaillod prefers to see things differently: “We will be able to increase the number of inhabitants of the village, without having to touch agricultural areas. »
The Coop seeks solutions
The communications manager of the distribution brand, Giovanni Iacomini, explains that “the proximity to the Boudry and Colombier points of sale, as well as the impossibility of renovating this building, motivated the permanent closure of the store. » He specifies that the cooperative remains, however, “looking for land or buildings that can meet the requirements of a large area within the village”.
This project of twelve apartments in Cortaillod is open to public inquiry until December 2. /yca
