A terrible road accident left two people injured, including one seriously, this Wednesday, November 6, around 8 p.m., in the town of Le Bosc, near Lodève.
A spectacular traffic accident, involving a single vehicle, took place this Wednesday, November 6 around 8 p.m. in the town of Le Bosc, in the Lodève-Montpellier direction, a few hundred meters from the La Meridian.
Driving on the A75 motorway, a 30-year-old motorist from Lodévo swerved which he was unable to control and which threw him against the guardrail which he literally smashed, at the entrance to a right turn.
In its mad rush, the vehicle tipped onto the departmental 609, running alongside the A75 at this point, and rolled over several times.
A five meter fall in La Lergue
He could have stopped on the roadway but, carried away in his momentum, he jumped the safety barrier about sixty meters further on, bounced on the top of a rocky outcrop and ended up five meters lower in the course of water the Lergue.
It was witnesses traveling on the D609 who raised the alarm when they saw debris littering the road, without finding any trace of the vehicle. And for good reason…
Head trauma for the passenger
When the gendarmes and firefighters from Hérault arrived, the occupants of the damaged vehicle, a 30-year-old man from Lodévois and a 28-year-old woman from Lodévois, managed to climb onto the bank.
They were both taken care of by emergency services. If the driver only had minor injuries, his passenger suffered significant head trauma. The two were finally evacuated to the Lapeyronie hospital center in Montpellier.
Positive drug screen
According to the first investigations, carried out by the gendarmes of the Lodève company, excessive speed was the cause of this terrible accident which, miraculously, was not fatal.
Note that although the alcohol test was negative, it appeared that the 30-year-old was driving under the influence of drugs. The investigation continues.
