The affair is hardly credible. On August 2, a 17-year-old leisure center leader was suspended after showing and teaching gestures related to Nazism to very young children.

It all started at the end of July. While supervising the children at the Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur leisure center, in Hautes-Alpes, the director of the establishment noticed that
some of them greeted each other with their arms extended upwards.

He taught toddlers the Nazi salute

Intrigued, she questioned the little ones, who revealed that they had
learned the Nazi salute from one of the Bafa trainees. The latter even had drew a swastika on the cheek of a 6-year-old girl during a makeup workshop, reveals Dauphiné Libéré.

In office since July 8, the 17-year-old young man had already received several calls to order. In particular, he had been
summoned after organizing violent sporting activities without taking into account safety rules. He offered boxing fights to children, “war games” and endurance races in the middle of a heatwave. The trainee had justified his choices by explaining that he wanted to “toughen up” the little ones.

Suspended for 6 months

Faced with these alarming findings, the director of the center raised the alarm with the Departmental Youth, Engagement and Sports Service (SDJES) of the Hautes-Alpes prefecture. The next day, the young 17-year-old host was
suspended for a period of six months. He is prohibited from exercising any function whatsoever with minors hosted in this type of center during this period.

At the same time, an investigation was opened by the public prosecutor. It is unknown whether the young man could be permanently banned from practicing his profession as an animator in the future.
