The town and its inhabitants were once again put in the spotlight and were the subject of filming for a new telegenic medium. After La Galope, it's the turn of the Gaec de Candale farm. The Améryste Production company, guided by the BAT 47 team (the Lot-et-Garonne film reception office), recently installed its cameras and projectors there, before going to Castillonnès and near Agen.
In one week, many shots were taken. The sound hunters and other professionals filmed on the site, in the company of the cows, so dear to the history of the short film. They allow us to retrace a slice of life connecting Maya and Ange, brother and sister, on the family farm. The film also tells the story of a cow farm decimated by a mysterious illness.
Capture sounds
Whether for short or feature films, several other shoots have been carried out in Lot-et-Garonne in recent months, and even in recent years. For this one, before the famous “Action!” “, the film crew worked in silence and concentration. “To let us hear, among other things, the sound of cows running, to capture the sound of the herd moving. »
In total, a little more than thirty people traveled to the Pinel region to capture sounds and images, to give substance and life to this short film, which benefits from regional and departmental aid. “And which will undoubtedly be broadcast in 2025”, according to local elected officials.
At the head of Gaec de Candale, Pierre-Michel Delattre, dairy producer, manages a farm of just over 100 hectares (which began operations in 1951). Also at the heart of its production, in recent years, alongside around a hundred cows, plums, wheat, corn and alfalfa.
