Fabienne Sigaud, “Small towns of tomorrow” (PVD) referent to take care of management and systems, accompanied Rebecca Do Marcolino, business manager at the community of municipalities, who presented an action program put in place since two years. It has been validated with many things done. This time, the spotlight is on a local gift voucher system to promote local purchasing.

The system, which aims to be sustainable, is intended to boost commercial activity, encourage local consumption and thus support local traders and artisans, while maintaining the economic fabric. A unique model of these gift vouchers, specific to the territory, has been created, and can be used to pay for expenses in one of the 90 member businesses throughout the territory.

Since its launch, the device has met with real enthusiasm; thus the number of establishments accepting checks has doubled. The CCVLV wanted a system open to all types of commerce in order to reach as many people as possible and offer a diverse and varied offer to consumers. Today the list includes shops, services, restaurants, crafts, direct sales from producers (aromatic plants, wines, etc.), stays in unusual lodges, holiday villages, hotels/spa, etc.

For 2024, new commercial operations and events are planned to raise awareness of gift vouchers among the general public. The economic context is still tense, with the succession of different crises and general inflation.

Also, the community of municipalities is launching a first contribution operation for the arrival of good weather. From Thursday, June 13, 5 p.m., to Saturday, June 15, when businesses close, the CDC is launching its “Operation Purchasing Power”. In this context, it will offer €20 in additional gift vouchers, for €20 in gift vouchers purchased, while stocks last.

The community of municipalities has provided an allocation of €4,200 for this operation. Checks can be purchased at the Spar store in Luzech, at the Moment pour soi institute in Prayssac or at the La Truffière hotel/bar/restaurant in Puy-l’Évêque. Purchases are only possible by credit card, one purchase per person.
