Emerging, the circular economy is developing step by step. Companies are becoming more aware, in particular, as part of the CSR (corporate social responsibility) approach.

To develop this practice, the CCI Dordogne and the agglomeration organized the first edition of Circular economy meetings in Dordogne on October 23 at the Interconsular Center, an initiative funded by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and Ademe. This involves helping companies reduce the cost of processing their waste while minimizing their ecological footprint: the alliance of economy and ecology.

Participants were able to discover the Actif platform. This digital tool created by the national CCI network aims to promote the circular economy among businesses and local authorities.

This involves promoting and sharing companies' underutilized assets, such as raw materials (cardboard, fabric, plastic, etc.), equipment, premises, human resources or skills.

Recover waste

Sandra Gauthier, co-manager of Gauthier carpentry in Saint-Priest-les-Fougères, took advantage of these meetings to place advertisements on the platform.

His company adheres to the Eco-défis label, initiated by the Périgord-Limousin Community of Communes. “We don't have a lot of waste but it can only go to general waste. » These are old joinery (doors, windows and shutters) replaced by customers. They mix glass, wood, PVC and metal, often with lead in the paints. “These are non-recyclable products. What to do with it? »

Among the other resources that are difficult for the company to recycle: pallets and foam that protect new joinery. “Our suppliers do not collect them. »
