Municipal signs removed by an agricultural union in protest

This Tuesday, the inhabitants of Châteauponsac were able to notice the absence of their municipal sign. It is the Young Farmers' Union of Haute- which is at the origin of this symbolic operation, report our colleagues from Bleu. The agricultural world is angry and the answers are no longer appropriate.

Châteauponsac is not the only municipality to have been targeted. Rançon, Balledent, Saint-Sornin-Leulac, Saint-Amand-Magnazeix and Saint-Priest-le-Betoux were also “victims” of the movement. A removal of municipal signs which follows those returned a year ago. This silent cry of distress could, however, gain momentum in the weeks to come.

The free trade agreement with Mercosur worries

Farmers are not convinced by the decisions taken last January. The administration is still as time-consuming and the salaries as meager as ever. The free trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur (a market made up of South American producers) was the announcement too many. French farmers would face unfair competition. In fact, these countries are not subject to the same regulations governing the French market.

This gentle action is a signal sent to the government. The FDSEA and the Young Farmers are already planning actions in mid-November. This time, the tractors could be brought out to block the roads so that their demands can finally be taken into account.
