In a desire to respond quickly and efficiently to the problem of school harassment and the challenges it represents for the minors concerned, their safety and their education, this cell composed of a delegate from the Prosecutor, a professional from the Department and staff from National Education aims to intervene quickly in middle and high schools where a situation of harassment is detected.

The Public Prosecutor's Office and the Academic Directorate of National Education Services have each identified three reference professionals. The Department has assigned a professional social worker to intervene in the situations reported by the heads of the Somme colleges and high schools in the Hauts-de- region. The Region contributes 50% of the costs related to this position.

This action is part of the implementation of the plan to evaluate and combat school bullying and school violence in the Hauts-de-France Region. The Somme Departmental Council stands out for its mobilization of student ambassadors and the organization of awareness-raising actions “Harassment: prevention is better!” ». These actions were recently awarded national awards for their innovative nature.

Also in connection with the national day against school bullying on November 7, the Hauts-de-France Region, in partnership with the two Rectorates, the DRAAF (academic authority for regional agricultural education) and the City of Saint- Quentin, organized on November 6 the first regional conferences on the fight against school bullying.

Stéphane Haussoulier, president of the Somme Departmental Council, “ congratulates the establishment of this rapid intervention unit within our middle and high schools, an initiative which demonstrates our determination to protect young Samarians from all forms of school harassment. Faced with this scourge which affects more than 700,000 children each year in France, it is imperative to act in a resolute and concerted manner. Thanks to this partnership action which mobilizes everyone's efforts, we can provide immediate responses for the safety of middle and high school students”.
