In December, the town of Tarascon-sur-Ariège invites its residents to two festive and solidarity weekends, with a Christmas market, workshops, and toy collection.

The month of December and the end of the year promise to be festive and lively in Tarascon-sur-Ariège. On December 14 and 15, the city invites residents to two days of Christmas magic, which will open with the traditional Christmas market, on the square in front of the cultural center on Saturday. In this context, a solidarity stand selling games and toys will be run by the local branch of Secours Populaire. An initiative which is part of a partnership dynamic initiated last year, bringing together the humanitarian association, the MJC of Tarascon, the parents' association “PasSiSages” and the municipal social center.

The idea is to combine “celebration”, particularly for children and families, and solidarity. Ahead of the weekend of December 14 and 15, the quartet will offer “Christmas before Christmas” in the multipurpose room of the social center (formerly the MJC gymnasium). Free workshops, activities and snacks will be on the program for Saturday, December 7 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Instead of the toy exchange, the four partners decided to join the dynamic proposed by the town hall, by setting up the sales stand at the Christmas market the following weekend.

To this end, the organizers are calling for donations. “If you have games, toys, bikes, or scooters in good condition and want to give them a second life by supporting Secours Populaire, you can drop them off at the municipal social center, 4 rue de l'Horte (formerly Maison des Jeunes )”.

While waiting for Christmas and the programs of all these Tarascon meetings, each of us can make a “small” gesture by making a donation. Like small streams forming large rivers, these modest gestures will contribute to the happiness of many children.
