This Wednesday morning at 10:40 a.m., Taha O., the main suspect in the murder of the young Filipino student in Paris on September 20, was handed over to the French authorities at the Thônex-Vallard customs, on the border between Geneva and Haute -Savoy.
A transfer operation under high security
Swiss authorities transferred Taha O. to French forces on the Swiss side of the border. This suspect, a 22-year-old Moroccan, was taken care of by the Regional Intervention and Security Teams (Eris), whose heavily armed agents ensured a very secure convoy. The vehicle then stopped for a long time on the French side of the border to finalize the formalities, a process which lasted in total more than an hour and a half.
The legal journey of Taha O.
Arrested at Cornavin station in Geneva on September 24, Taha O. accepted a simplified extradition procedure this Monday, thus facilitating his transfer to France where he will be presented to an investigating judge.
A sordid crime in the Bois de Boulogne
The body of the young 19-year-old victim, raped and killed, was discovered on September 21 in the Bois de Boulogne, in Paris. The suspect was already subject to an Obligation to Leave French Territory (OQTF), but the expulsion could not be carried out due to a delay in sending the consular permit from Morocco, which had arrived only after his release.
