The Michelin group announced on Tuesday the closure of its Vannes and Cholet sites, representing 1,200 employees.
Since then, reactions have followed one another on the political level. It is in this context that La France insoumise announces that it will send a delegation to Cholet this Wednesday, November 6, at the beginning of the afternoon. It will be made up of Manuel Bompard, national coordinator, Clémence Guetté, deputy and vice-president of the National Assembly, and Angevin Arash Saeidi, European deputy.
LFI thus intends to denounce this decision (which) comes as the Michelin group reaps record profits and continues to increase dividends paid to its shareholders. An explosion for employees and their families, as well as for the economic fabric of these territories. Yet another blow to the French automobile industry which adds to the 6,581 positions threatened or eliminated in this sector between September 2023 and 2024.
