Two children found dead and decapitated in their family home in Guadeloupe: the mother hospitalized in psychiatry

Two young children, aged one and four, were found dead and decapitated in their family home on the night of Monday November 4 to Tuesday November 5, 2024 in Sainte-Rose in Guadeloupe.

On the night of Monday November 4 to Tuesday November 5 in Sainte-Rose in Guadeloupe, two young children, aged one and four, were found dead and decapitated in their family home, according to information confirmed by Caroline Calbo, prosecutor of the Republic of Pointe-à-Pitre, in BFMTV confirming information from RCI FM.

It was the father who, upon returning home, discovered the bodies of his children and raised the alarm, a police source told BFMTV.

The mother arrested and placed in police custody

The children's mother, initially untraceable, was later located by two gendarmes while she was wandering the street, naked and singing. She was arrested and placed in police custody, but this measure was lifted for reasons of incompatibility, added the Pointe-à-Pitre prosecutor. She has since been hospitalized in a psychiatric unit.

The Pointe-à-Pitre public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into “murder by ascendant of a minor under 15 years of age”, entrusted to the research brigade of the Pointe-à-Pitre gendarmerie. The father, in shock, was taken care of by emergency services. According to authorities, he was not separated from the mother of the two children.
